Kim Duffy - Accounting Director
She may be a technical master when it comes to accounting and administration, but it’s Kim’s warm personality and light-hearted spirit that make her a face to remember at the Zatzman Sportsplex. As our Director of Accounting and Administration, Kim Duffy keeps operations running smoothly when it comes to finances.
Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Kim earned her Bachelor of Commerce at Saint Mary’s University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 30 years of experience working in business operations and administration. Before joining the Zatzman Sportsplex team in 2004, Kim spent years honing her skills as a business advisor, auditor, tax preparer, trainer, and gaming manager. While Kim spends a lot of her time behind her desk with spreadsheets and file folders, her creative mindset gets her involved in all kinds of projects at the Sportsplex. Efficient and friendly customer service is important to Kim, and she’s constantly brainstorming ways to improve the way we do things.
An avid volunteer, Kim has served as both a Board Member and Treasurer of a local theatre company, and has spent time volunteering with the CPA tax preparation program. Kim’s friends, family, and husband Terry mean the world to her. She loves taking photos when she’s travelling or enjoying quality time with them (but she does miss the days when photos had to be printed). Although she loves travelling with her favourite people, Kim doesn’t mind a solo roadtrip—it gives her the chance to belt out her favourite songs in the car! With a nickname like “Swiffer”, it comes as no surprise that Kim is an energetic dancer and loves to have a good time.
Kim is proud to call Dartmouth her home, and is so excited to see how the Sportsplex will grow over the coming years. When asked what excites her about the future of the Zatzman Sportsplex, Kim says it’s that the facility will be a true community hub. “The Sportsplex is a place where everyone should feel like they fit in. A place they can always go whether they want to be alone or be surrounded by people,” says Kim. As the Sportsplex grows and evolves, Kim’s presence, experience, and ideas will continue to be a huge part of what makes it a great place to be.
