LOCKDOWN UPDATE & COVID-19 TESTING

Following the Provincial Government’s orders, the Sportsplex closed its doors on April 22, 2021, at 9 p.m. for a four-week mandated lockdown.

Our phone lines will be open daily from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. if you have any questions regarding memberships, programs, classes, etc.

MEMBERSHIPS

  • Annual paid in full, six months, and one-month memberships will have the time added on once we reopen.
  • Annual paid monthly memberships will not be charged again until we reopen, and any time missed will be added on.

No one will lose time on their memberships.

ACTIVITIES

If you have any activities booked (yoga, spin, swims, fitness centre times) that have been paid for (you don’t have a membership), a credit will be issued to your HRM MyRec.

We are currently looking at bringing back virtual classes. We will have more information available regarding this next week.

PROGRAMS

The Sportsplex is not cancelling spring programs. The weeks missed will be added to the end of the program once we reopen. If we are not able to add on the weeks missed, a credit for those weeks will be added to your HRM MyRec account.

Aquatics Leadership programs will be rescheduled once we have a reopening date.

WORKSHOPS

Upcoming workshops have been cancelled and credits will be issued to the HRM MyRec accounts of everyone who has registered.

COVID-19 TESTING

NS Health will be setting up COVID-19 testing in the Sportsplex during this lockdown. Testing will only run while the facility is closed.

Testing starts Saturday, April 24, 2021, and is by appointment only. If you have questions or wish to book an appointment, please call 811 or visit https://www.nshealth.ca/coronavirustesting. The Sportsplex is the venue for the testing, but the testing is still run by NS Health. The Sportsplex cannot book you in for a COVID-19 test.
