Teen Takeover is a free night at the Zatzman Sportsplex, designed to help teens unwind from a busy week and hang out in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment. From 7 - 10 p.m. every Friday night, teens are invited to use the Sportsplex for free—no membership or pass required.
What happens at Teen Takeover?
During Teen Takeover, youth ages 12-17 are invited to come to the Sportsplex for free to swim, play sports in the gym, hang out and use the WiFi, play board games, and participate in other activities run by our staff child and youth staff.
Is Teen Takeover supervised?
On Friday nights, Colter Simmonds, our Child, Youth, and Sport Coordinator, is always in the building (unless he's away, then he always has a back-up in place). Colter's experienced staff are in on Friday nights to hang out with the teens, run activities, and supervise teens to keep them safe and comfortable.
Do I need to register for Teen Takeover?
On your first Teen Takeover night, you'll sign a quick registration form so we know who you are and that you'll be hanging out at the Plex on Friday nights. This form is easy to fill out—we just need your name, address, email address, phone number, and health card number. The form is below in case you want to print, fill it out, and have it ready when you arrive.
Is Teen Takeover free for everyone?
Thanks to the Zatzman family and their generous donation, we're able to offer teens a free night out at the Sportsplex every Friday. No need for a membership or pass, you're welcome to join us on Fridays.
