These guidelines advise that physical distancing must be maintained at camp in order to ensure the safety of children and staff. We have carefully reviewed the advice of Dr. Strang and consulted with programmers and parents to help inform our decision.
We have decided to cancel summer camps scheduled for the weeks of July 6, 2020 and July 13, 2020. Your child’s safety is our top priority. We do not see a way to safely and effectively maintain 6-feet between every camper and staff member, at all times for 8+ hours, while still delivering the engaging and exciting day camps you have come to expect from the Sportsplex.
This was not an easy decision, and we understand the potential impact that this will have on families. Since these situations can evolve quickly, we are not cancelling all our summer camps yet. Should there be changes to the Provincial restrictions and guidelines we will review the options to start camps.
